The NHS Pharmacy First service allows you to get expert advice and a suitable treatment from our pharmacist for a range of common health conditions, without needing a GP appointment.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Check that your condition/symptoms are suitable
Check that the signs/symptoms that you are experiencing are suitable for treatment under the NHS Pharmacy First scheme
2. Video Consultation
You will be emailed a video link before your appointment to be able to have the ONLINE VIDEO consultation with the pharmacist.
3.Receive your treatment
The pharmacist may issue a prescription medication for your condition. This will be delivered for free to your door.

Impetigo
A skin infection causing red sores/blisters or yellow crusting.
Symptoms
We might be able to help if you are an adult, or suspect impetigo in a child aged over 1 year Do you have red sores and blisters on the skin? Have blisters that have popped and left crusty, golden-brown patches that could get bigger, be itchy or spread to other areas of the body? This service isn't suitable for pregnant individuals who should instead make an appointment to see their GP. You'll also need to contact your GP if you keep getting impetigo infections. Infected Insect Bites
Insect bites over 2 days old showing symptoms of infection.
Symptoms
We might be able to help if you are an adult, or suspect an infected insect bite in a child aged over 1 year. Were bitten more than 2 days ago? Is the bite red, painful, tender, warm to touch, turning red? or is there pus or fluid wheeping from the bite? This service isn't suitable for pregnant individuals who should instead make an appointment to see their GP. You'll also need to contact your GP if you keep getting infections. Sinusitis
A bacterial infection in the sinuses that can lead to congestion and feeling bunged up.
Symptoms
We might be able to help if you are an adult, or suspect Sinusitis in a child aged over 12 years of age. Do you have a blocked nose? Do you have a post nasal drip? Is it maybe a bot more than a cold or a blocked nose? This service isn't suitable for pregnant individuals who should instead make an appointment to see their GP. Shingles
An infection in adults which lead to a painful rash developing on the skin.
Symptoms
We might be able to help if you are an adult, aged over 18 years of age with symptoms of Shingles. Do you have a tingling or painful area of skin? A headache? A shingles rash? This service isn't suitable for pregnant individuals or those under 18 years of age who should instead make an appointment to see their GP. Acute Sore Throat
A sore throat is usually caused by a virus or a bacteria
Symptoms
We might be able to help if you are an adult, or child aged over 5 years of age with symptoms of Tonsillitis or a sore throat. Do you have a painful or sore throat? Swollen glands in the neck? A mild fever? This service isn't suitable for pregnant individuals or those under 18 years of age who should instead make an appointment to see their GP. Urinary Tract Infections
Urinary tract infections can lead to pain and discomfort whist trying to urinate.
Symptoms
We might be able to help if you are female and aged between 18-64. Is it painful when you urine? Is there discomfort when going to the toilet? This service isn't suitable for male, catheterised, pregnant individuals or those under 18 years of age or above 64 who should instead make an appointment to see their GP. For severe UTI's please make a GP appointment as we are unable to help. You'll also need to contact your GP if you keep getting infections.
